Los Angeles Kings right wing Justin Williams was taken off the ice with a broken right leg early in the first period in Saturday game with the Phoenix Coyotes in Glendale. Williams fell backward with his right leg trapped underneath his torso and dropped onto his back. He remained on the ice as play continued. He was taken off by stretcher after a lengthy delay at the first period.
"I haven't been told, other than that it's a broken leg," Kings coach Terry Murray said. "I can't play doctor. I can't predict. I have no idea. It's not good We'll take him back on the flight with us tonight, he will see our team doctor and we'll get the word out tomorrow." Williams has 8 goals and 16 assists in the los angeles kings jersey in 33 games.

Kings activate Ryan Smyth from reserve list
The Los Angeles Kings have activated forward Ryan Smyth from the injured IR on Friday and sent four players, forwards Corey Elkins, Oscar Moller and Scott Parse and defenseman Alec Martinez to their AHL team, the Manchester Monarchs.
Smyth had 9 goals and 14 assists for 23 points in 22 games in his los angeles kings jersey before going down with an upper body injury during the game against the Florida Panthers on Nov. 16. He has missed the Kings' last 15 games. Hecame to the Kings from Colorado on July 3 in exchange for defensemen Kyle Quincey and Tom Preissing and a fifth-round pick in the 2010 Entry Draft.
Elkins made his NHL debut this week and played in two games with the Kings, scoring his first NHL goal in Calgary.

O'Donnell is suspended for the rest of games
Los Angeles Kings defenseman Sean O'Donnell has been suspended for two regular season games because of a match penalty in a pre-season game against the New York Islanders on September 22.
At 16:37 of the second period, O'Donnell was assessed a match penalty for delivering a cross check to Matt Martin of the Islanders.
O'Donnell will miss the Kings remaining three pre-season games against Colorado and Anaheim as well as the first two games of the Kings' regular season schedule. He will be eligible to return on Oct. 8 against Minnesota.
