Tolbert is out of ALDS with oblique strain

Twins infielder Matt Tolbert was placed on the disabled list on Saturday with a left oblique strain that he suffered in Friday's game against Yankees. Minnesota named infielder Brian Buscher to take place of Tolbert, who will also have to miss the Twins' next series. Yet Tolbert tried to play through the pain, not wanting to exit his second career postseason game. After his second at-bat of the night, the pain became much more serious.

"It finally got to the point where I couldn't throw across the infield or run," Tolbert said. "I knew if I had to make a play or try and score a run, I might be able to do it." Tolbert was replaced by infielder Brendan Harris, who hit an RBI triple later in the game. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Harris will get the start at third base in Game 3.
