Avalanche Jones will lose several months' playing

Colorado Avalanche forward David Jones is going to miss the next 4 or 6 months after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday's game with the Minnesota Wild.

Jones was hurt later in the third period when he collided with Minnesota forward Chuck Kobasew, who fell on his leg.
Avalanche was already playing without forwards Milan Hejduk and T.J. Galiardi. "I think that when you have those injuries, it's an opportunity for other players," Avalanche coach Joe Sacco said. Two wonderful games will be on show on Sunday

Colorado's Darcy Tucker left the ice with a concussion

Colorado Avalanche left wing Darcy Tucker was taken to a hospital with a concussion after taking a hit from the Carolina Hurricanes' Tuomo Ruutu at the second period in Friday night's game at the Pepsi Center. The Avalanche reported that Tucker had regained consciousness and was fully alert. "We know he suffered a concussion," coach Joe Sacco said after the Avs' 5-4 victory. "He was alert and he was moving, so those are positive signs.”

Tucker fell on his back and lay on the ice for several minutes and taken to the hospital. "The League will take care of it," said Carolina coach Paul Maurice.
