Colorado Avalanche forward David Jones is going to miss the next 4 or 6 months after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday's game with the Minnesota Wild.
Jones was hurt later in the third period when he collided with Minnesota forward Chuck Kobasew, who fell on his leg.
Avalanche was already playing without forwards Milan Hejduk and T.J. Galiardi. "I think that when you have those injuries, it's an opportunity for other players," Avalanche coach Joe Sacco said. "It gives them a chance to be put in different situations and see how they respond." Hope he can return to his team in his avalanche jersey 6 months later.

Two wonderful games will be on show on Sunday
Most hockey fans know that two games will be on tap for Sunday, and both tems promise to be for fun. At 5 p.m. ET, the Atlanta Thrashers will perhaps bounce back from Saturday's 6-3 loss on as they will host the St. Louis Blues at Philips Arena. St. Louis was extremely competitive on Saturday, but came up in a 2-1 shootout loss against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wachovia Center.
And three hours after that game begins, the Colorado Avalanche will continue their fabulous start as they will take on the Edmonton Oilers at the Pepsi Center. So which team do you support? Anyway, let us put on NHL jerseys and support our favourite teams.

Colorado's Darcy Tucker left the ice with a concussion
Colorado Avalanche left wing Darcy Tucker was taken to a hospital with a concussion after taking a hit from the Carolina Hurricanes' Tuomo Ruutu at the second period in Friday night's game at the Pepsi Center. The Avalanche reported that Tucker had regained consciousness and was fully alert. "We know he suffered a concussion," coach Joe Sacco said after the Avs' 5-4 victory. "He was alert and he was moving, so those are positive signs.”
Tucker fell on his back and lay on the ice for several minutes and taken to the hospital. "The League will take care of it," said Carolina coach Paul Maurice. "I'm a huge Darcy Tucker supporter, so I hope he's OK." "Ruutu's got a history," said Foote, the Avs' captain. "He hits late, he hits from behind. So I felt like it was probably dirty if your guy is laying there." Hope he will return to the team in his avalanche jersey soon.
