Flyers term with veteran Grahame

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren confirmed that goalie John Grahame has signed a professional contract with the American Hockey League affiliate in Adirondack. Grahame spent five seasons in the NHL from 2001 through 2008 with the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes. He recently played 20 games in the Kontinental Hockey League for Avangard Omsk during the 2008-09 season.

Holmgren has not revealed his plans for Grahame but he actually need an experienced goalie, when starting Flyers goalie Ray Emery underwent abdominal surgery. The club is currently relying on veteran Brian Boucher, who has started the last four games, and rookie Johan Backlund, who has made an appearance in the flyers jersey this season.

Colorado's Darcy Tucker left the ice with a concussion

Colorado Avalanche left wing Darcy Tucker was taken to a hospital with a concussion after taking a hit from the Carolina Hurricanes' Tuomo Ruutu at the second period in Friday night's game at the Pepsi Center. The Avalanche reported that Tucker had regained consciousness and was fully alert. "We know he suffered a concussion," coach Joe Sacco said after the Avs' 5-4 victory. "He was alert and he was moving, so those are positive signs.”

Tucker fell on his back and lay on the ice for several minutes and taken to the hospital. "The League will take care of it," said Carolina coach Paul Maurice. "I'm a huge Darcy Tucker supporter, so I hope he's OK." "Ruutu's got a history," said Foote, the Avs' captain. "He hits late, he hits from behind. So I felt like it was probably dirty if your guy is laying there." Hope he will return to the team in his avalanche jersey soon.
